I use a holistic model of therapy with women that takes into account the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of your life. My therapeutic approach is based on a variety of theories and models and I have trained in many approaches, styles and techniques of counselling.
My 3 Main Counselling Approaches
Working holistically, I use a blend of theories and techniques tailored to your individual needs to support you in your therapeutic process. I have found these methods to be extremely effective in helping people make improvements in their lives. The 3 main counselling approaches I draw upon in my practice are:
GESTALT THERAPY
Gestalt therapy is a form of psychotherapy that emphasizes the importance of the process in working with people. Together we will work on building awareness and experiment with different ways of being in the world. In gestalt therapy there’s an empowering emphasis on the client-therapist relationship.
SOMATIC EXPERIENCING
Somatic experiencing is a body-based method in healing physical, emotional and psychological shock, stress and trauma. Its power lies in enabling you to let go of the past and restore your body and mind to an empowered sense of relaxed wholeness: a deep knowledge and conviction that everything’s OK.
MINDFULNESS
Mindfulness is all the buzz at the moment. There are books on how to use it everywhere – from parenting to corporations, you name it. Why? Because it’s guaranteed to work. Mindfulness is about training yourself to pay attention in a specific way and bringing you back to fully experience life as it happens.
